The workshop “Energy Transition as a viable Boost for the sustainable economic development” was held on 15 October at the TTPU Turin Polytechnic University campus in Tashkent. The event was organized by Politecnico, TTPU and the Italian and British Embassies in Tashkent, with the participation of representatives of the Ministries of Finance and Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and important companies.
The workshop addressed the ecological transition in the energy sector and the opportunities for both international cooperation in the field of training and for scientific and industrial collaboration. Sustainable development is a pillar of the EU's Green Deal, which concerns energy but also many other aspects, such as socio-economic. The meeting brought to the attention of the public a combination of comprehensive analysis and concrete case studies, giving the opportunity to share experiences and points of view towards common goals between Europe and Uzbekistan.
For Politecnico, David Chiaramonti, Vice Rector for International Relations, and Ettore Bompard of the DENERG / Energy Center spoke online.
On site were present Michele Bonino, Delegate of the Rector for Relations with China and Asian Countries, and Anita Tabacco, Rector's Delegate for Transparency and Internal Communication and coordinator of the Uzbekistan project who opened the works together with the Rector of TTPU Jamshid Inoyatkhodjaev and the Ambassador of Italy in Tashkent Agostino Pinna.
The mission to Tashkent was also the opportunity to announce to the TTPU partners the new Operating Project Managers (Fulvio Rinaudo, Pierluigi Leone and Guido Marchetto), in service since 12 October, and to start discussions on new training and research plans for the next three years.
