The Chairman was accompanied by the Rector of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent (TTPU) Prof. Jamshid Inoyatkhodjaev and the Rector of Andijan Machine Bulding Institute (ANDMBI) Prof. Umid Turdialiyev.
The guests – whose visit received wide coverage on the Uzbek press - were welcomed by the Rector prof. Guido Saracco, the Vice Rector for International Affairs Prof. David Chiaramonti, the Rector’s Delegate for International Relations with China and Asian Countries Prof. Michele Bonino, the Project Manager of the Uzbekistan Project Prof. Anita Tabacco, and the Operating Project Managers of the same project Prof. Fulvio Rinaudo, Prof. Pierluigi Leone and Prof. Guido Marchetto.
During the three days the delegation had the opportunity to visit Politecnico’s Integrated Additive Manufacturing Centre IAM@PoliTo, the CIM4 .0 Competence Center for Industry Manufacturing 4.0, the company Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, the CARS@PoliTO Center for Automotive Research and Sustainable mobility and finally IVECO.
The main aim of the visit was to discuss the enlargement of the existing collaborations with the possible extension to the city of Andijan or other regions of Uzbekistan in relation to the industry needs, both in terms of academic degree courses (Bachelor and Master) and of specific professional education paths for company employees as requested by Uzautosanoat. The starting point of the new developments will be the range of degree courses offered by TTPU in Tashkent in collaboration with POLITO, currently 3 Bachelor degrees, 1 Master of Science degree and the Professionalizing Bachelor in Industrial Manufacturing Technologies.
The Rector Prof. Saracco declared: “We agree that hat proposed by Uzautosanoat is the right direction for Uzbekistan and the Politecnico is honoured to have been chosen as a partner for such important developments.”
